3. Our lawful bases
Under UK data-protection law, we rely on the following lawful bases:
-
Contract: where using your information is necessary to take steps at your request, process an order, create a custom design, deliver your products or provide customer support connected with your purchase.
-
Legal obligation: where we must retain or disclose information to comply with tax, accounting, consumer-protection or other legal requirements.
-
Legitimate interests: where necessary to operate and improve our business, secure our website, prevent fraud, manage customer enquiries and protect our legal rights, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
-
Consent: where you have actively agreed to optional marketing or non-essential cookies and tracking technologies. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
4. Personalised artwork and uploaded files
When you order a personalised product or logo-design service, you may provide artwork, logos, photographs, names or other content. We use this material to prepare proofs, create your design, manufacture your order and provide customer support.
Please avoid submitting personal information that is not necessary for your order. If your files contain information about another person, you should have their permission to provide it to us.
5. Payments
Payments may be processed through Shopify Payments or PayPal. These providers receive the information needed to authorise and process your payment and apply their own privacy policies to their handling of that information.
We do not receive or store your complete payment-card number or security code.

7. International transfers
Some service providers may store or process personal information outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure that an appropriate legal safeguard is in place, such as UK adequacy regulations or approved contractual protections.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies required for core functions such as navigation, checkout, security, account access and remembering customer preferences.
We may also offer optional analytics or advertising cookies. Where consent is required, these technologies will not be used until you make your choice through the cookie banner. You can change or withdraw your choice through the available privacy settings.
We currently do not have a Meta Pixel or Google advertising pixel installed. If we introduce additional analytics or advertising tools, we will update this policy and the website’s cookie information as required.

If you choose to receive marketing, we may use your email address to send news, product updates and offers. You can unsubscribe at any time by using the link in the message or contacting us at cardbreakermats@gmail.com.
Service messages about an order, payment, artwork approval or delivery are not marketing and may still be sent where necessary to fulfil your order.
10. How long we keep information
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including fulfilling orders, answering queries, handling disputes and meeting tax, accounting and legal requirements.
Order and transaction records are generally retained for up to six years where needed for legal, tax and accounting purposes. Artwork and uploaded files may be retained for a reasonable period to complete the order, handle reprints or resolve customer-service issues, after which they may be securely deleted when no longer needed.
Retention periods may vary if a longer period is required by law, a dispute is ongoing or you ask us to delete information that we have no continuing legal reason to retain.
11. Keeping your information secure
We use reasonable organisational and technical measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure. However, no online service or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
